Learning Words
Coral can talk. It seems like she learned how to talk when she was 4 months old (it was probably later than that). The other day I had this exchange with her (small disclaimer, I’m not 100% sure I’m remembering the words she used – if these weren’t the exact words they were something like this):
Me: Coral, when did you learn the word “disgusting?”
Coral: Recently.
Me: When did you learn the word “recently?!”
Coral: Couple days ago.
She’s very nonchalant about all this. Like most kids, when she learns a new word she tries it out a lot – I guess to make sure she knows what it means. I find it interesting to ask her where/how she learns new words because she can usually tell you (if it was a person or a TV show or whatever).
A couple of her new words (thanks to having a little sister): vocalize and imitate.
One response so far
She is a good talker. Is it possible I influenced Coral to say “cool”? I heard myself saying it a lot to her, now I hear her saying it. The imagination can run wild as to who taught her what. Eunice
