A Day with Coral

Published by Andy at 11:53 am under General

Yesterday I got to sleep in – a rare but much appreciated thing. After that, I got to spend a lot of time with Coral (not as rare but also appreciated). We started off Saturday with something we do frequently – we walked up to the Falls Church Farmers Market. This is a somewhat different experience when it’s 15 degrees outside and not 70 degrees – but we still enjoyed it.

From there we walked to the bowling alley to do some kid bowling with the cousins. Coral really enjoyed it and she got three spares and a strike!

After bowling we walked up to my office (where I had left my car the day before). While I was getting some work stuff together Coral left the office to use the bathroom without telling me. Unfortunately, the office door was still locked so when she came back she was locked out! Fortunately, after not too long someone came by the office and let her in. She told me all about it and I felt terrible (partially because it must have been scary for her and partially because I didn’t think to go looking for her after she disappeared for a while).

From there it was on to the bank and a drive-by of cousin Eva’s new house (looking good!). When we got home we made a fire and Coral demonstrated that she knows how to call my cell phone (by calling me from the other room without telling me). We then read a book. After that we had fun watching a couple of episodes of Survivorman. I have no idea why she likes that show but she loves it. We had some dinner (pizza) and she had a bath and then it was bedtime.

Her new favorite bedtime book is the Children’s Planet Earth Encyclopedia. Last night we learned about the formation of the earth and dinosaurs.

Hooray! Another blog posting! Obviously, you need to get Coral her own cell phone – then she could have called you to let her in. I doubt that she was really scared. She is a very level headed young woman and anyway, she would have let you know if she had been. Sounds like you two had a great day.
