Picture of the Day - Snow
Another Two for Tuesday. If I’m not mistaken, this is a picture of our house in Pensacola, Florida. I have no memory of it snowing there, and I assume it hardly ever snows in Pensacola.
P.S. I realize today is Emily’s birthday but I haven’t yet sorted any batches of photos that were taken after Em was born! If you’re itching for some love for Em then check out the Happy 30th, Em! blog.

I think this was early winter of ‘77. Tim was in kindergarten and his teacher said that it had snowed once when he was a kid too, so I assume that snow in Pensacola is a once in a generation sort of thing. It was gone by the next day.

it surprises me that a house in pensacola would have a chimney/fireplace. freak snow storms aside, did it get cold enough there that you would want to build a fire?

It was down in the 40’s at night occasionally but a day time high of below 60 was rare. We did run the heat most days in December, January, and February. Many of us turned on the air conditioning on Christmas so we could enjoy a fire.
