The Rankin Zoo 

Yesterday morning Coral and I were at the computer looking at pictures. B stuck her head in and said that she was going to go to Starbucks and wanted to know if I wanted anything. I thought about it for a minute and said I’d like just a regular coffee. B was about to leave when Coral said, “I want a muffin.”

We both said, “what?” and she replied, “I want a muffin from Starbucks.”

Since when does Coral know what Starbucks is and what you can get there?

Another quick story…

I asked Coral which she preferred: Pet Store or Target Store? Her answer: Pet Store!

Then, B asked her which she preferred: Pet Store or Toy Store? Her answer was a little slower but remained: Pet Store!

Final story…

The other day we were playing the game “what does a cat say” and “what does a cow say” and things like that. I asked Coral “what does daddy say?” She responded, “Daddy says ‘I love you!’” How nice!

The prizes for this contest aren’t as good as the last contest they did (a new car) but they aren’t bad and there isn’t a lot of competition for them so it might be worth giving it a try. Most of the prizes are just coupons to area restaurants and tourist sites but there are a few prizes that an out-of-towner could claim.

My immediate family (mom, siblings, wife, kid) can’t play but everyone else can!

Coral’s friend Champe, from our nanny share, was hanging out at our house last Saturday so his parents could go out to dinner to celebrate his mom’s birthday. We were trying to get him to say happy birthday to his mom but he wouldn’t. Coral tried to teach him how - she can be a little bossy sometimes.

This is a kind of long one but the end is pretty good so stick with it.

If you’ve visited RankinZoo before and watched any of Coral’s videos you have probably noticed that most of them end with her saying “bye bye.” We were making some videos last night and she obviously knows the routine but seems to be pretty bored with the standard “bye bye” ending. Check out the end of this video - it’s pretty funny.
