Yesterday, Coral and her nanny share friends went to the zoo. Fun was had by all. We didn’t see a lot of things but the things we saw were pretty cool. Some photos from the trip are posted here. Not the greatest photos but it’s hard to wrangle four kids at once - even when there are three adults there!
Next time I’ll try to get better photos and videos.
Sorry, no video this time. I just wanted to answer some questions that have come up.
Yes, we let Coral watch her videos and she thinks they’re hilarious. She likes to look at pictures of herself and also pictures of “Baby Coral” - she thinks she’s cute. Sometimes it’s actually hard to get her to stop looking at pictures and videos. She also likes to look at pictures of her cousins and other things - so she’s not just obsessed with pictures of herself.
I’ll try to get more video of her saying “name Coral” - we’re actually trying to teach her that her full name is “Coral Rankin” - we haven’t had tons of luck with that yet.
I haven’t posted the Coral & Eva Part Two yet because it hasn’t been filmed. In fact, the script hasn’t even been written yet. Maybe this weekend we will have time to shoot the sequel. I’ll keep you posted.
Also, in case you didn’t notice in the video, Coral got a haircut recently. In addition the bangs she got a decent amount chopped off of the back - which makes it a little easier to manage and makes her look a little bit less like a cave toddler.
I’ll try to take some more regular photos of Coral - I know I’ve been on a photo kick lately.
Finally, I noticed a while back that the archives weren’t showing up on the site. The links are now there but the archived pages aren’t - I’m working on fixing it.
Instead of a short video clip I have created an entire movie for you! You might call it a documentary. Or maybe not. It’s a cliffhanger though, that’s for sure.
We recently moved Coral into her new room, and also faced daylight savings time, and so we’re having some issues getting Coral to sleep at night. I think it’s more an issue of the time change than being in her new room - she really seems to like it in there.
Last night I was putting her to bed and she was having trouble falling asleep. I pulled the rocking chair up next to her crib and sang some songs to her. After a while it seemed like maybe she was asleep so I stopped singing. A moment later I hear this quiet, “again?” come from the crib and I look over and a sleepy eyed Coral is looking over at me. So I did a bit more singing and that seemed to do the trick.
I gotta go to bed but here’s a quick video of Coral from this weekend. Yes, I let her hang out in the back yard in her nightgown (hey, she’s wearing shoes!) and yes, she’s part dog.
More videos to come - and maybe I’ll even post a story again someday. Okay, here’s a quick one.
Coral was getting ready for bed, reading a book with her mom. Actually, it was the Baby Animals magazine that Mimi got for her. She turns the page and exclaims, “Baby Duck!” - which seemed really odd. A moment passed and she said, “Naaaahhhh, Baby Elephant!” I’m not sure why “duck” came out the first time - it certainly was an elephant and not a duck.
Sometime I need to write about Liz, the plastic lizard that Coral sleeps with.
