One Cracker!

When we got home this evening I didn’t expect Coral to eat much dinner. The nanny told me that the kids had had a large, late snack and so Coral might not be hungry. When we first got home I gave her some dried blueberries to keep her from fussing as I put things away.

She seemed hungry so I put her in her high chair to give her some real dinner. She ate a couple of bites and then spotted the box of crackers on the counter. “Cracker! Cracker!” she pleaded. I encouraged her to eat her dinner but she persisted. So I told her she could have one. One cracker. “One cracker,” she repeated. So I gave her a cracker.

She munched on it a little and kind played with her food for a few minutes. Then she started getting fussy again. Again she pointed at the crackers, “Cracker! Cracker!” she repeated. I tried to explain that she needed to eat some real supper - and anyway she already had her one cracker that she hadn’t finished. She fussed a little and looked at me for a few seconds and then got that look in her eye…

“Two!”

Costume Day

Today was Costume Day at day care. Coral went dressed as a farm girl. Kirstin painted Coral’s face, which Coral loved! But Coral’s favorite thing was the star painted on her hand. She loves stars!

Like most other days, Coral’s clothes were a bit on the small size. She’s growing too fast - we can’t keep up! We need to sort through her clothes and take out the small ones.

Coral’s also excited about the ‘dition being done soon (as are we!). The addition is getting very close to the end - although once the construction is done we still have a lot of work moving things around. Coral will get a new room out of the deal, which she doesn’t know yet. It should give her a little area for playing upstairs, which will be helpful.

Now that she can say Misty’s name (she calls her Mist) she seems to have a much stronger bond with her. She generally treats Mist very well, giving her nice pats and hugs and the occasional kiss. For her part, Misty is tolerating the attention well. Overall, Coral continues to love all of her “onimals” as she calls them.
