It’s Friday!

Coral had a great time at daycare today. I even managed to pick her up on time. She’s really starting to crawl now. Her trip to Chapel Hill should be fun.

It seems like today Coral is making great strides in her development. She has two new teeth breaking through (which would be a total of 5) and we can see at least another one getting ready to come through.
For a few days now she’s been pulling herself up into a standing position. Today she managed to clear the coffee table and now she’s standing up in her crib instead of going to sleep tonight.
She’s been able to roll over for months now, but she hardly ever does it. However, tonight she seemed to be rolling over at will. I’m not sure if she found a new technique or if she just decided that rolling over is fun. Front to back has never been a challenge but as of tonight it seems like back to front is no problem either.
Finally, it looks like she can crawl. She’s not zooming around or anything but she distinctly took some “steps” (? or is it “crawls”) forward this evening. She’s been going backwards for weeks now but until today I had never seen her truly go forwards. It looks like she would rather do a crab walk, on her hands and feet, instead of traditional crawling on her hands and knees. But, I suspect she’ll discover that hands and knees are faster (and less dangerous) in the near future and then she’ll be zooming around like crazy.
So, that’s the Coral update for tonight. She has a big weekend ahead of her - heading down to Chapel Hill to visit Meme and Aunt Iris (with B of course). If she’s not crawling full speed before she leaves I’m sure she will be when she gets back… good thing it’s a short flight.
See, I told you Coral had fun with Uncle Brian… I think.

Due to scheduling conflicts we had to ask Uncle Brian to pick up Coral from daycare. She seemed a little suspicous but rumor has it that they had a good time hanging out together.

We now have photographic proof of Coral’s braids from last week. She didn’t sit still very well for the photos so they’re not great. And I suspect that she didn’t sit still for the braiding, so they’re not exactly symetrical, but it’s still pretty cute.
We’ll have to see what Kirsten comes up with this week. One of these days we should probably give Coral a haircut because her hair tends to get in her eyes, which will eventually be annoying for her.
We also have photos of Coral “standing” - she has taken to pulling herself up on things. We had to lower her crib so she doesn’t flip herself out of it. The thing she’s leaning on in the pictures will flip over if she leans on it too hard. We’re headed for a tumble, I can see it coming.

This weekend RankinZoo.com was down because the server crashed. The server sits on the floor under my desk at work so I guess I can’t really expect 100% uptime and there’s no tech support to complain to.
When I got into work this morning I restarted the server and things seem to be working again. Enjoy!
